PSE is rolling out several new crossbows in 2013. One of the most exciting releases is the new PSE Toxic. The Toxic is a value priced crossbow, retailing for just $499, with some upper tier features. First of all, it sends a 425 grain arrow downrange at 325 feet per second. That is excellent speed but it’s even more impressive when you consider the draw weight is just 150 pounds. The power stroke is also short at just 11 inches making it very easy to cock.
The PSE Toxic Crossbow weighs in at about 9.5 pounds, making it a little heavy for some. The advantage is the weight makes it easier to steady. This crossbow is also centered pretty well. The PSE Toxic doesn’t feel front heavy.
We fired several shots through the Toxic on our test range and found it to fire very good groups. You won’t find many crossbows at this price point that shoot as consistent as the PSE Toxic. We can’t classify the PSE Toxic as whisper quiet. But again, it stacks up very well with other crossbows in the $499 price range.
PSE built some very impressive features into the Toxic that makes it easy to shoot for just about anyone. An adjustable butt plate stock, 4×32 scope with four reticle lines, comfortable grip, and vented foregrip make this bow a breeze to get ready to shoot from any distance. The PSE Toxic also comes with four carbon arrows, 4 arrow quiver, and a sling.
The PSE Toxic not only performs well, it looks incredible. This bow is available in Skullworks Camo and Mossy Oak Break Up Infinity. Either way, you’ll go undetected with style.
If you’re buying your first crossbow and looking for a full package crossbow with speed and accuracy, look no further than the PSE Toxic.
