TenPoint Titan De-Cock Review

The TenPoint Titan De-Cock is one of the most exciting introductions to the crossbow market in 2022. An amazing new decocking feature built on a time-tested Titan platform makes this crossbow one of the best bang-for-buck purchases out there. We’re going to quickly run you through what makes the Titan ACUdraw De-cock and ACUdraw 50 De-cock models so special.

Titan ACUdraw De-cock Features

VX-5 Cams

These new cams help to create a longer power stroke. Why does this matter? Well, for starters, a longer power stroke generally helps to create a more narrow bow, which is especially useful when hunting out of treestands, ground blinds, and box blinds alike. The second thing the elongated power stroke does is increase the distance the nock is in contact with the string, which helps to deliver a more accurate arrow down range.

NEW D1 Trigger

This new trigger is a huge improvement from crossbows of the past at this price point. The D1 trigger is a 2 stage, zero creep design. This means you will feel the trigger travel back without much pressure, and then hit a wall. Then to break the shot, the trigger does not travel further back when pressure is applied. This helps to create a more consistent trigger press increasing accuracy. The trigger weight is set to around 3.5 pounds, which is a good weight for a crossbow hunting setup. It also features new DFP technology (Dry-Fire-Prohibitor) which helps to prevent accidental dry fire.

This is perhaps the most exciting introduction to the crossbow market this year. The ACUdraw line of crossbow cranks has long been one of the best-selling and most reliable cranks on the market. The addition of a safe de-cocking feature only adds fuel to the fire!

The unit is designed very well, and it’s very easy to operate.

Step 1: Cock the crossbow back just like normal. Hook the sled onto the string, insert the draw handle, and crank it back until the string clicks into the trigger.

Step 2: Now that the string is in place, unwind the handle and lift the draw sled over the scope and place it back into the stationary position.

Step 3: Now that the hunt is over, remove your arrow, and hook the draw sled back onto the string. Because the string is already in the cocked position, you will need to be attentive and make sure that the sled is properly seated on the string.

Step 4: This is the best part of the whole system in my opinion. To decock the Titan, simply push the big “decock” button on the side of the ACUdraw, crank the draw sled back until you hear a click, and then unwind it! The ACUdraw de-cock is clutched so it will not free spool if you let go of the handle on the way down. Simple, easy, silent, and safe!

The process is very similar to the ACUdraw 50 decock version. The only difference is that you need to use the handles, pull back to hear the “click” and slowly let the string down.

Adjustable Butt Plate

Another option that can be easily overlooked but can really help make the shooter’s experience comfortable and more enjoyable. The buttplate has two different positions to allow you to get an optimal length of pull. This is important to get a proper trigger press which is vital for accuracy. It also just makes the whole experience much more comfortable.

Titan Decock Accuracy

Accuracy is always something people get hung up on when thinking about purchasing a new bow. The first thing I’ll always say is the crossbow is going to almost always shoot better than the person using it can. The nice thing about the Titan Decock is it has a good crisp trigger that allows you to execute a clean trigger break without

Most people buying crossbows from us are hunting whitetail deer, black bears, and the occasional turkey. The Titan De-Cock is more than accurate enough to be lethal at 50 yards. In my opinion, the accuracy starts to loosen up enough after 50 yards that I would have to carefully consider taking a shot at a game animal past that distance. For the majority of hunters taking shots from 40 yards and in, the Titan will do everything you want it to accuracy-wise.
